There comes a point in every product category where an engineer apparently asks:

“But what if we put two in there?”

Two cameras.

Two monitors.

Two burger patties.

And, naturally, two 510 weed-oil cartridges inside one pocket-sized vape battery.

Welcome to the HoneyStick DUO VV PLUS.

This is the upgraded, auto-draw version of HoneyStick’s dual-cartridge concept. This 510 thread battery carries one or two standard 510 cartridges, gives you four voltage settings, includes an 8-second preheat, shows your settings on a digital display, charges through USB-C, and somehow packages the whole operation into a body measuring only around 56mm × 91mm.

And then there is its appearance.

Although to be clear, this is a design observation—not permission to vape anywhere vaping or cannabis use is prohibited. The device may hide the cartridge hardware. It does not magically hide what comes out of your lungs.

Especially when you activate both cartridges simultaneously.

Is It Really Buttonless?

For vaping, essentially yes.

But don’t interpret “buttonless” as “this device contains no button.”

There is still a control button used to power the device on and off, change voltage, activate preheat and choose between the left cartridge, right cartridge or both. HoneyStick says five clicks turn the device on/off, three clicks adjust voltage, two clicks activate preheat, and holding the button enters cartridge-selection mode.

Once that’s configured, though, inhaling does the actual firing.

That’s exactly how I want it.

Let’s address the giant double-barreled elephant in the room.

The DUO VV PLUS can operate:

the left cartridge,

the right cartridge,

or…

both cartridges simultaneously.

You select the desired mode through the control system, and lighting near the cartridge indicates which side is active.

This isn’t merely storage for a backup cart.

Both carts can actually be powered.

That gives the DUO VV PLUS an unusual advantage: you can carry two different cartridges and switch between them without removing either one, or activate both together.

Why Would You Carry Two Carts?

• Maybe one contains your daytime oil and another your evening choice.
• Maybe you like two strains.
• Maybe you want two flavors.
• Maybe you simply believe that owning two cartridges should somehow require fewer decisions rather than more.

No judgment.

Having two independent cartridge positions is genuinely useful because you don’t necessarily need to combine them.

And then there is Both Mode.

Does it hit harder than one cart?

Well… There are two carts.

Physics remains undefeated.

With compatible cartridges, firing both can noticeably increase the amount of vapor produced compared with using one cartridge alone.

It can also create some interesting flavor combinations if you’re using different oils.

But there is one tiny scientific detail I feel obligated to mention:

Two carts can also mean considerably more aroma on the exhale.

The cartridges may be concealed.

Your exhale is not.

If your oil has that unmistakable cannabis aroma, doubling the vapor does not result in half the smell.

Strangely, nobody has yet convinced mathematics to work that way.

So while the DUO is physically discreet, dual-cart mode should not be confused with odor discretion.

You may look like you’re holding a regular disposable-style vape.

The cloud may have other opinions.

The cartridges install inside the DUO VV PLUS rather than sitting completely exposed on top of the battery.

You remove the magnetic base, screw your 510 cartridges into the internal connectors and slide the assembly back into the housing.

The result is compact and unusually clean-looking weed cart battery.

Hello, I am obviously a 510 vape.

The DUO takes a different route.

Its cartridges disappear largely inside the housing, leaving the device with a broader, enclosed shape more reminiscent of many contemporary disposable vapes.

Wow.

A regulated weed-oil cartridge concealed inside something that looks broadly like another regulated vape.

Human civilization has peaked!

Again, this doesn’t change where you legally may use it, nor does it make vapor or aroma invisible.

But as industrial design? Very clever!

The enclosure also gives the cartridges some physical protection compared with the traditional exposed-cart-on-a-stick arrangement.

Anyone who has ever snapped a cartridge in a pocket understands why that matters.

The DUO VV PLUS measures approximately 56mm × 91mm.

For context, that’s compact considering what is happening inside:

• a 600mAh battery;
• two 510 connections;
• dual cartridge chambers;
• a digital display;
• auto-draw electronics;
• adjustable voltage;
• preheat functionality;
• and USB-C charging.

You could obviously find a smaller single-cartridge battery. That’s not exactly shocking. A bicycle is also smaller than a pickup truck.

The real question is whether the DUO remains discreet 510 battery for a dual-cart system, and I think the answer is yes.

Instead of carrying two cartridge batteries, you’re carrying one rectangular device that accommodates both carts.

That makes far more practical sense for a pocket or small bag

The DUO VV PLUS uses a 600mAh internal battery.

For a normal 510 thread battery, that’s a respectable capacity. For a device capable of powering two cartridges simultaneously, it is more of a balancing act between battery size and keeping the hardware compact.

A huge battery would increase runtime, obviously. It would also make the DUO approximately the size of a sandwich. Six hundred milliamp-hours is therefore a reasonable choice.

When primarily using one cartridge, battery endurance should naturally be better than when constantly firing two at once.

Because once again:

• Two heaters require more energy than one.
• Science is remarkably persistent about this.

If you’re the type who intends to run both carts every single draw at higher voltage, expect to charge more frequently.

The DUO VV PLUS gives you four output settings:

• 2.6V Best place to start with flavor-focused cartridges and oils that perform well at low voltage.
• 3.0V A balanced everyday setting.
• 3.3V More vapor and stronger response.
• 3.6V The highest setting for users who want a warmer, more aggressive draw.

The digital display identifies your selected level using colored bars.

I particularly like the inclusion of 2.6V.

Modern cannabis-oil cartridges often benefit from lower voltage settings, especially if preserving flavor is your priority.

The old philosophy of:

MORE VOLTAGE = MORE BETTER is not always your cartridge’s philosophy.

Higher heat can increase vapor output, but it can also produce harsher flavor depending on the oil and cartridge.

• Start low.
• Move upward.

This is vaping, not a drag race!

That last item matters more than usual on a dual-cartridge device.

I prefer knowing what the battery is doing before I inhale. It’s a charming little personality flaw.

Two clicks activate the DUO VV PLUS’s 8-second preheat cycle. HoneyStick positions the feature for thicker oil and cartridges affected by colder temperatures.

Preheat is especially helpful when oil has thickened or a cartridge has been sitting unused.

Rather than immediately hitting a cold cart at normal voltage, the battery gently warms things before your draw.

It can also help with stubborn airflow situations where oil needs a little encouragement to move.

Think of it as morning coffee for your cartridge.

Except your cartridge never complains about Mondays.

HoneyStick specifies support for many 510-thread cartridges up to 2ml, with cartridge diameters between approximately 10.5mm and 14mm and lengths up to 67.8mm.

That’s an important specification because concealed batteries are only useful if your cartridge physically fits inside them.

Traditional stick batteries don’t care very much about cart width.

Fine, I’ll elaborate.

USB-C makes everyday charging easier because most of us already own several compatible cables, and it avoids the proprietary screw-on chargers that used to accompany older pen-style batteries.

The charging port is positioned at the bottom of the device, keeping the outside fairly clean.

Is USB-C exciting?

No.

Is discovering you need a Micro-USB cable from a drawer last opened during the Obama administration exciting?

Also no.

The DUO VV PLUS automatically shuts down after five minutes of inactivity.

That is particularly welcome on a device carried in a pocket or bag.

Even though inhalation activates the vape rather than a traditional fire button, automatically shutting the electronics down after inactivity reduces unnecessary standby operation and adds another layer of protection against unintended use.

It’s not glamorous.

Neither are seatbelts.

Useful things occasionally suffer from poor marketing.

The DUO VV PLUS has a slightly unusual relationship with its button.

You need the button to manage the device.

You don’t need it to actually vape.

Five rapid clicks turn it on or off.

Three clicks change voltage.

Two clicks start the 8-second preheat.

Holding the button for roughly two to three seconds enters cartridge selection, allowing you to choose the left slot, right slot or both.

After that:

inhale.

That’s it.

This is a smart compromise.

Fully buttonless devices are wonderfully simple until you want variable voltage, cartridge selection and preheat.

Button-operated devices provide control but make every draw slightly more involved.

The DUO gives you controls when configuring the session and auto-draw when actually vaping.

But let’s give credit where it’s due:

as a cartridge-battery design, it’s genuinely clever.

My favorite feature isn’t even the ability to fire two carts simultaneously.

It’s the ability to carry two cartridges and independently select either one without removing them.

The double-cart hit is just the ridiculous dessert.

Use both and you get substantially more vapor.

You may also get substantially more weed aroma on the exhale.

Because while HoneyStick has successfully concealed the cartridges, nobody has yet developed a magnetic cover for smell.
